I'm a developer who builds the whole product, not just one layer of it. Most of my time is spent moving between a React or Next.js frontend and a Python/Django backend — wiring up the interface, the API and the database as one connected system rather than handing pieces off to someone else.

Somebody also has to turn a blank page into a layout — choose a type scale, decide what a button looks like, make the thing feel considered. That's part of the job too, and I keep it simple on purpose: clear grids, restrained color, type that does the talking.

Outside client work, I spend time reading source code of libraries I use daily, rebuilding small parts of tools I like to understand how they work, and keeping a running list of things to learn next.
